Two names have made a massive impact on the gaming industry. They are HyperX and Logitech. If you are a gamer, then you would have undoubtedly used their products once in a while.
As you know, Logitech also manufactures several peripherals for the electronic segment. HyperX, too manages to stay afloat in a crowded market. On that note, we have decided to review the HyperX Cloud Flight S vs Logitech G PRO X gaming headsets.
The latest Cloud Flight S model does not come with the market value of the Cloud Alpha or the 3D audio feature in the Cloud Orbit S. But it comes with just the right amount of features infused in it, making it a worthy contender for the G PRO X.
It is an upgraded version of the HyperX Cloud Flight. The design is quite the same, and it comes with an elegant look. Though they are tight on the head, they are slightly lighter. The unit comes with 4 buttons on the left side that is programmable to a barrage of controls.
We feel the unit is highly versatile because it works exceptionally well on the PC and PS4. The need to use the software often on most platforms is not required because you get the sublime function’s operations quite well.
The Logitech G PRO X has a USB Type-C connection on this gaming headset. It is the first time they have installed it, and we hope to see it on the rest of their products. This unit gives you intense operation and function.
After all, it is one of the most popular headsets in the eSports industry. The manufacturer has introduced a new range of latency, spectacular battery life, reliable device, and priced well. As it comes with the G HUB companion software, you can know that you can effortlessly work out things.
It is safe to say that this is a sublime option for gamers at home and WFH users. You will not be disappointed using it. Let us read on more about these two models and how they can help you with your gaming capabilities.
Besides, we have also provided you with the winner at the end of the comparison review.

DESIGN & COMFORT
The HyperX Cloud Flight S and the Logitech G PRO X gaming headsets come with exceptional design & comfort. One look at them both can be rest assured that they can keep you comfortable.
The HyperX Cloud Flight S product looks more premium and sleek than the Cloud Flight gaming headset. We felt that Flight S is more elegant and simple in design. Besides, they come with a microphone that can be detached.
Additionally, it is a complete black in color and is not as flashy as the ROCCAT Elo 7.1 Air unit. The unit does not come with customizable RGB lighting on the earcups. Its padding is adequate, giving you a nice feeling as soon as you put them on your head.
It is slightly heavier than most models at a similar price, but that is a good thing ensuring it is durable. Our tester did not feel that there was too much pressure on the head. You can still wear them comfortably for extended gaming sessions without hassle.
The Logitech G PRO X product has everything that you can desire from a wireless headset. Our tester found that you can wear it for long hours thanks to the comfort fit as well as the 20 hours of battery operation.
We liked the pressure applied on your head because it does not slide down on your head, unlike most units. This cannot be very pleasant, especially when you are walking or jogging down the road.
The Logitech G PRO X comes with a highly soft memory foam infused on the earcups offering intense breathing capabilities. It was not surprising because Logitech has been in the gaming industry long enough to design its headsets.
Additionally, the leatherette feels elegant and looks well made. They also come with noise cancellation features making them a suitable choice for passive hearing: leatherette or soft, breathable velour for supreme comfort.
Overall, the comfort of the G PRO X was exceptional, and the clamping force not very tight. However, it would have been good if the cushion was thicker for a good seal. But that is just fine because there is a bit of spacing.
The Cloud Flight S, too, comes with sufficient padding on the earcups, making it suitable for wear for a prolonged time for gaming and entertainment purposes. You do not feel discomfort wearing them for 6-7 hours or longer.
BUILD QUALITY
The build quality of the HyperX Cloud product lineup has always been top-notch. We can say the same about the HyperX Cloud Flight S as it is designed using a plastic frame. There is also single metal on the headband, giving it extra durability.
It looks premium and feels substantial. You will not find any issues adjusting the headset because it comes with no noise at all. Few Cloud models do come with noise, and changing the side stray takes time.
We also like the cushion support on the headband, coming with the right amount of clamping force that feels entirely secure on your head. It is not very tight. The earpads come with the leatherette memory foam.
It gives an adequate seal on the ears. Additionally, it comes with a special force of rotation that caught our eyes. The fitting was not an issue on large heads at all. Besides, you may not find issues if you have long hair or wear spectacles either.
The same can be said about the Logitech G PRO X gaming headset. It comes with sufficient clamping force and a cushion cover on the headband. The material used in both the earcups and the headband well is made from aluminum and leatherette.
A notable feature of the product is that it comes with a fabric pouch. Unlike most of the products, this one felt strong and rugged. You know that it remains safe without scratches happening on it.
The memory foam earpads come with another pair of cloth memory foam padding. Our tester liked the feel of the USB power cable and the detachable microphone. The Logitech unit comes with an aluminum fork and steel headband.
You can be assured that the headset can last for many years without any flaw in it. All in all, both gaming headsets come with sublime build quality and looks. You cannot go wrong with either of them.
AUDIO PERFORMANCE
The audio quality on the HyperX Cloud Flight S is beyond most of the product lineup. We were stunned by the wireless headset coming with the Qi-compatible base for an effortless charge. The audio performance has a slight over-emphasis on the bass till 200Hz.
We felt that the highs and the lows were quite good. You can find a dip when it reaches 4KHz. This is something that commonly happens to avoid natural resonances. The sound of the instruments and the gaming noise were perfect for us.
It was due to the boosted bass sublimely increasing the sounds effortlessly. You will not face problems when gaming. Unlike most headsets, the isolation in here was top-notch. It is not often that you get to see a unit blocking noise in high and mid-range.
Our tester played games like the Halo: The Master Chief Collection on the PC and laptop. He did not find any distortion whatsoever. That is an excellent thing to note. Besides, its surround sound worked exceptionally well.
You can seamlessly switch from the stereo to the traditional sound whenever you want to. In conclusion, this unit can provide a genuinely excellent gaming experience to you. On the other hand, the Logitech G PRO X offers you stunning sound quality.
This was something that we could expect from it because Logitech wireless was something most of us have always enjoyed a lot. It sounds like the wired G Pro X model. That came with a more balanced sound and pristine audio quality.
When you compare it to the Corsair HS70, this sounds better. However, the units like GSP 370 and Sennheiser can provide you sublime sound. The traditional sound was better to use than the software on it as it felt muddy.
We want to mention that it comes with exceptional passive noise isolation as the ear cushions do an excellent job. Sadly, the sealing was not as good as on the G933 and the 900 series because the soundstage was immensely affected.
MICROPHONE PERFORMANCE
Several professional gamers have commended the Cloud Flight S microphone. For the price range, it comes with a noise cancellation feature. Besides, the controls on it were easy to use. The headset works when the wireless mode is used on the PS4 and the laptop.
Our tester felt that the noise clarity did not live up to its reputation. Besides, he felt there is a significant amount of de-emphasis occurring on the mid-range and bass. Though you have a deep voice, it can sound distorted at times.
But it did manage to do well in speech intelligibility. You will not face issues when playing games or speaking to somebody else on the line. We tested the microphone on popular games like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and were satisfied with the microphone capability.
We also played Fortnite with ease and no problem with the sound performance. Our tester felt that this one of the best microphones he has seen in a long time. That is because you could clearly hear everything.
The individual on the other end was able to communicate with us without issues, even in the noisiest in-game scenes. With the help of the BLUE VOICE software, it enhances the game to a new level.
Your communication powers are immensely increased and suitable for streaming. As it is a wireless unit, the sound performance is low and reasonably expected. However, the software lifts the audio quality, ensuring that gamers and WFH users are not left highly disappointed with Logitech’s Blue USB headset.
We felt that the G PRO X came with a slight advantage in the segment.
COMPATIBILITY
The compatibility on the HyperX Cloud Flight S gaming headset is one of the best in the market as it comes with excellent connectivity. You can effortlessly connect to the devices and the consoles by plugging in.
It also comes with surround sound, needs more software to get the desired hardware. That is not the case here because you need to plug it in and begin with it. It comes with a USB 2.4GHz RF dongle ensuring that you can connect on any platform you want.
We did not find any problem in doing so with the dongle. You can find all the controls and the buttons on the headset itself. We had no issues in using them, and they improved the gaming performance.
Few notable features on the Cloud Flight S include rotating earcups for 90 degrees. It also comes with LED lighting effects. They looked top-notch, especially when gaming high octane games.
The same can be said about the Logitech G PRO X wireless compatibility, as you can easily connect using the wireless dongle. It does not work on the Xbox One, which can be a slight problem if you prefer using it.
The onboard microphone controls and the audio were splendid. It also comes with a microphone that has a noise cancellation feature infused in it. The unit can function only when the wireless mode gets switched on for use on the PS4 and the laptop.
PRICE
The HyperX Cloud Flight S is priced less than $160. It cannot be termed as low-priced or cheap. But it is reasonably priced, coming with stunning features infused in it. We were highly impressed with the sound quality and built construction on it.
On the other hand, you have the Logitech G PRO that can be purchased for under $130. The difference of around $20 may not mean much for gamers or professional users. For the features in the G PRO, we thought that the manufacturer did a decent job in the pricing.
Usually, you can expect more specifications and features on a $150 unit. However, the features present on the G PRO are sufficiently placed for the pricing. Overall, both the units come with the right kind of pricing, and that is what it is.
VERDICT
We have come to the end of our review on the HyperX Cloud Flight S vs Logitech G PRO X. Both these gaming headsets are similar in design and offer you almost identical sound performance. It is going to come down to your preferences and budget choice.
The HyperX Cloud Flight S is a decent gaming headset. It has a good noise isolation performance, sound quality is outstanding, and exceptional battery life. Typically, these kinds of units do not come with software for surround sound.
They work exceptionally well on your PC and gaming consoles. However, the Logitech G PRO X come nicely designed, comfortable to wear and leak less noise. It has more customization options because of the graphic EQ presets available on the companion software.
It is safe to say that currently, the biggest competition for the G PRO X would be the Cloud Flight S. Though Flight S is priced slightly more than the G PRO X, it is worth the amount. The features infused in it are way better than what is found on the G PRO X.
The G Pro X Wireless uses leather for the headband and aluminum for the chassis. When you value the design, sound, and battery life, you may want to opt for the G PRO X wireless that is priced at $130.
When you want comfort, exceptional microphone, and wireless charging, then you may want to choose the Cloud Flight S. Based on what we read, the winner between HyperX Cloud Flight S vs Logitech G PRO X is the Cloud Flight S.
They come with exceptional programmable controls and amazing microphone ability, and sublime battery working life.
