The Intel Core i5 1035G1 processor is priced under $329. The model is a pretty good one as it comes embedded with decent features. It was released in May 2019. The unit does not come with the 48 EU Iris Plus G4, as the i5 1035G1 CPU cores run somewhat slowly.
The AMD Ryzen 3 3200U processor is priced under $288. The model is a mid-range processor that has splendid features. It was released in July 2019. The unit comes with a slight difference in the maximum temperature rated at 105 degrees Celsius, and the 3250U processor comes to 95 degrees Celsius.
Specifications & architecture
The Intel Core i5 1035G1 processor comes with a stupendous specification & architecture. The Ice Lake processors offer you with a double-digit per-MHz performance boost. This was quite evident with the performance of the earlier models released in the market.
This is something that we appreciate from Intel. However, they did not tell you that the clock speeds have taken a small dip in the Core i5-1035G1, Core i7-1065G7, and other Ice Lake CPUs. Whether it is a good move or not, only time will tell.
It is capable of HW-accelerating on most AI workloads. We did find the Thunderbolt and Wi-Fi 6 support in this chip, which is a good thing. Most of the units that are used this year, in 2023, must come with this feature.
We were happy to note that the integrated RAM controller could work with the 64GB of DDR4-3200 or LPDDR4-3733 memory. It has many PCI-Express 3.0 lanes that can help you connect discrete graphics cards, SSDs, and other devices.
There are also 4 PCI-Express 3.0 lanes that provide you with a read/write rate of 3.9Gb/s which is suitably fast depending on the NVMe SSD used. It is not a user-replaceable CPU as you must get a decent performance on the motherboard BGA1526 socket interface.

You can use it for browsing the internet, reading, writing, and just about your regular tasks on the internet. It should not disappoint you with that. If you are a video editor or into photo editing, then you may want to make use of the Ryzen 5 series or the Intel Core i5 processors.
In all fairness, this model comes with only the basic Radeon Vega 3 integrated graphics. Besides, you will want to know that gaming is another factor why you might find the PC system doing better with a Ryzen 5 series, than this model.
That is because it comes with better Vega 8 integrated graphics. But you will also want to remember that this model’s Vega 3 can work on any game that you prefer. Just that, you may need to reduce the resolution and graphics settings.

We noticed that the power of the AMD model was pretty standard at 15W TDP, though it was able to get everything that we wanted, done. Not to mention Ryzen 3 series is gaining popularity in the market, thanks to the fact that they are innovating new architecture.
Please note that the 15W-rated cooler is found only on higher-end thermal solutions. You will be amazed to know that we were able to overclock the AMD model to 3.7 GHz within a reasonable temperature range.
The fan was able to offer you with adequate cooling and provide additional cooling around the socket. It has been able to provide you with higher core counts and rawer computing than in earlier times.
The only reason why the Intel model won here is because of the gaming performance, which was much better than the AMD model that was discussed here. AMD will have to work on their lower mid-range models and tweak them a bit to get more juice from them.

It means, that you do not have to make any additional payment for CPU cooling when you choose a model. The Intel Core i5 1035G1 processor could be the better one because it comes with a 1333MHz higher RAM speed, has 4 more CPU threads, and has a smaller semiconductor size.
There is also a bigger L2 cache, a higher PassMark result, and a bigger L3 cache. It has a bigger L1 cache and more memory bandwidth. The AMD Ryzen 3 3200U processor comes with a faster CPU speed, more L3 cache per core, and a faster GPU turbo speed.
